Hi Ken. I would like to share with you the words of a top Neurological researcher, Baroness Susan Greenfield — taken from her book “The Private Life of The Brain” — I received this book from her personally a couple of months ago, and it provides some wonderful insights. The publication studies the relationships between consiousness, feelings, emotions, cognitive functions & effects, etc. To quote her “However powerful and aesthetic the windows onto the brain afforded by imaging techniques, we, as scientists, would always be on the outside looking in. It is hard to see how we could have privileged, first-person access to someone elses subjective state, even if we could trace each precise step in teh process of generating not only consciousness but a certain type of consciousness, say, pleasure rather than fear. [ And, the quote I wanted to share (having put it in context above)] The nearest we may come to sharing someone else’s consciousness is via poetry, paintings, and music.”….
